Facade Escape

Escape, this word means to get out, out of a place where you're being held captive.
Prisoners sometimes escape from the prisons where they're held captive.
Then there's the facade escape, the fake escape.
The escape from the world and your surroundings.
It provides a momentary escape, but really it's a trap.
A trap into a prison.
A prison that is not easy to escape.
It leads you into cycles and cycles.
The more and more you choose the facade.
The deeper and deeper the pit of this facade escape goes.
This facade escape is like jumping out of a prison window only to hit your head on a side walk.
Every single time.
I had a facade escape.
This escape kept me coming back to it, man! It had me thrilled!
It provided comfort for a moment, but boom, side walk.
My facade was pornography. And the more and more I chose to escape to the motions and moans on a screen, the more and more I got trapped.
Trapped in the facade.
I was in this facade escape for so long that I started to think like it, and act like it.
I viewed women in all the wrong ways, undressed them right before my eyes.
These pixel perfect motions on the screens started to distort my view of all that I knew was wrong.
I knew that this escape was wrong, but for so long this had me so enticed that I felt like I no longer had a choice.
I became a prisoner to this escape that for so long was my escape.
Then came along the great escape, this escape gave me everything that the facade never could, it brought me freedom from captivity.
When this escape came into my life, I still had my prisoner mindset, and this mindset lead me to going back to captivity even when I had the greatest escape.
But!
This great escape didn't just free me from the physical bondages of pornography. But mentally and spiritually has been training me on how to truly escape it! Removed from me my wilderness mindset. It taught me a new way of thinking.
Since the great escape came into my life, he has been teaching me how to avoid going back into captivity, he's shown me the fruits of obedience and the fruit that can only come from the great escape.
The facade escape is instant gratification, doing something now that I'm going to regret as soon as I'm done with it, and most times that leaves me feeling empty.
The great escape is Jesus! Jesus set me free!
Jesus is the great escape! He is the way! The way out.
And the way forward!
Jesus is much better than the pits of instant gratification.
He doesn't just provide momentary escape, but he provides everlasting escape.
I don't know where you are in your journey right now, but can I urge you!
Choose Jesus over the facade escapes of this world!
Even if you're thinking is so distorted, even if you feel so dirty because of your old ways of thinking and escaping.
Choose Jesus!
Freedom and so much more, are there for you. With just three words you can accept Him as your great escape right now, say it with me - I Choose You!
Just like that, freedom and so much more are yours.
Choose Jesus over instant gratification.
Thank you for your time.
