Secrets

Secrets. 

Nothing good grows in the dark, we say.

Nothing fruitful, nothing true. Yet we continue to keep secrets.  Secrets.  They destroy futures. They destroy marriages. 

And they destroy the individuals that keep said secrets.  From little we are told not to keep secrets, yet we have the innocent little ones with our parents that tell us not to tell the other parent that the other parent bought us ice cream when the other parent would not approve. (shhhh) Secrets like don’t tell your little brother that I gave you pocket money to go out with friends; otherwise he will think there are favorites when there supposedly weren’t. (shhhhh) I was the favorite. JK.  We are told to not keep secrets, yet we were taught from a young age how to keep secrets.  How hypocritical.   Humanity has been doomed with secrets since the beginning, when Adam & Eve (not Steve) ate that fruit and tried to hide it from God - the first secret. 

Satan the father of lies tells us that we are better off keeping secrets. 

And wow how we believe his lies. Come on everybody it’s in the name, Father of lies.   He is the father of secrets. That first secret brought about a world of secrets, a world doomed for a place without the presence of light. Where there would only be darkness, and no light. A place without God. 

But the mercy of the Creator is far more powerful than the powers of the father of secrets. 

The Good Father came and destroyed all secrets. He sent a Saviour to save us from that world without light and bring us into the world of light.   No longer doomed by lies and secrets. 

But in this light there cannot be darkness, there cannot be secrets. 

So the father of lies & secrets thinks okay, I lost, but I ain’t losing alone. 

So this guy goes on a mission to do 3 things. Kill, steal, & destroy. And he does that by trying to cause division between me and you.  

Through secrets. 

He tells us that secrets are safer than truth and vulnerability. 

He preys on our weaknesses and attempts to keep us silent.  

Because when we are silent, we lose, he wins. 

He tells us that when we tell truth that people will leave us. 

That we will be abandoned, cast out. Unwelcome and unloved. 

But the truth is that when we speak out and speak up, he loses his power over us. 

His tactics are made null & void. 

He becomes a public spectacle. 

He keeps us stuck in sin by telling us not to expose our secrets because oh man he knows. 

That the truth shall set you free.  

Let us no longer be fooled humanity. 

We weren’t meant to keep secrets, but to live in light, and in love. 

To live in Him.
