This is my spirit’s desire, to be consumed by you

To know you deeply, to see you

Fire consumes a bush and it burns up and dies

The fire in hell is like a fire that consumes, yet it burns endlessly, bringing only death

But the fire of the Lord is much more wonderful than that

It burns, and consumes but leads to life

Oh that I would be consumed by you

To know you intimately, to hear you

Oh to be consumed by you

My spirit longs to be in your presence for all eternity

May I be consumed by you oh Lord

So that this sinful flesh would burn and die

So that I may know you free of barrier

Free of sin

Consume me Lord, then I will know you deeply

Then I will see you, I will know intimacy

Then I will hear you,

Then my spirit will rejoice, for you are victorious

Majestic and perfect in all your ways

To gaze upon your face is the satisfaction my spirit needs
